Travel Player Placement

If, at any time, a player chooses to quit the team they are rostered on, they will be forfeiting all fees that have been paid.   If after 30 days, it will be assumed you accept and you will automatically be placed on the team.  If you decide after the 30 days to quit, you will be placed on probation for 1 year and may not be allowed to play the next season.  


Volunteer Hours

FOR EVERY PLAYER ON A TRAVELING TEAM, A DEPOSIT OF TWO (2) $200 CHECKS IS REQUIRED PER FAMILY.  EACH FAMILY WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR 8 HOURS OF PARENT VOLUNTEERING FOR EACH SEASON.  WHEN THE FIRST 4 HOURS HAVE BEEN FULFILLED, THE FIRST $200 CHECK WILL BE SHREDDED. WHEN ALL 8 HOURS HAVE BEEN FULFILLED, THE FINAL $200 CHECK WILL BE SHREDDED. CHECKS WILL NOT BE CASHED IF YOUR HOURS ARE MET. 


Peppers Travel Program

(8 – 18 years old)

This is a highly competitive, traveling fast-pitch program.  Teams will be formed by try-outs.

The 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U traveling teams will be formed for the next season via try-out in August of the current year.

8U and 10U teams will be form via try-outs being held in February or March.

This is a highly competitive, traveling fast-pitch program. 

All 12u-18u travel teams will tiered. 

Player placement is based on evaluations mostly done by independent evaluators, coaches input from the previous season, team needs and player attitude and demeanor.

All travel coaches have full discretion as to whether or not they choose for their teams to participate in league games. League games are typically played once or twice a week within a Twin Cities Metro League or an appropriate league suited for the teams talent.

Teams will typically participate in 5-7 weekend tournaments, which will include both a State and National tournaments. Teams may participate or qualify for a National tournament which may be out-state. Other tournament locations and dates are based on coaches preference with board approval.

Travel players may be asked to travel outside of Minnesota.  Players that commit to a travel team will be expected to participate in all team scheduled events.

8u-10u Practices typically start a few weeks after try-outs with games starting in May, and running through the end of July or early August.

12u Practices typically start sometime in March/April with games starting in May, and running through the end of July or early August.

14u-18u Practices typically start after the high school season is over or teams are done. Games could start in late May and run through the end of July.
 

 

M.A.G.F.A. will accept online or offline payments. However, online is preferred. You can use a credit/debit card or a checking account. Thank you!

12U, 14U, 16U, 18U Program - A deposit of $50 is required prior to participating in try-outs. 

If player is not placed on a roster, the money will be refunded. However, if the player is placed on a team and decides not to play, they will forfeit their deposit and any other player's fees that have been paid.

 

MAGFA cannot provide scholarship assistance for traveling players.

8U - 10U Players not attending ISD#77 are not eligible to try out for an 8U-10U team as of Feb 2017. 

As of August 2020, Uniforms are NOT included in the registration cost.

(12u/14u/16u/18u players only)

Players living outside of ISD #77 are eligible for 12U, 14U, 16U and/or 18U teams. 12U players may tryout for 14U Elite team only. 14U aged players tryout with the 14U group regardless if they want to be considered for an older team.  Prospective coaches for 16U/18U will attend 14U Tryouts.

All registration payments for 8u-10u are due at the time of registration and before players will be allowed to try out. 

8u-12u will be provided 2 jerseys.

14u-18u will be provided 1 jersey.

14u-18u must purchase 2 jerseys.

8u-12u - Navy blue pants w/orange stripe are to be purchased by the player.

14u-18u - navy blue and white pants w/stripe are to be purchased by the player.


TRAVEL UNIFORM INFORMATION

BEGINNING SPRING 2024, ALL UNIFORMS WILL BE ORDERED ONLINE - NO ORDERS WILL BE PLACED THROUGH AN ORDER SHEET AT UTE. 

Both web stores will remain open through March 24th. All orders will be completed approximately 2-3 weeks after this date. ANY ORDERS PLACED MARCH 25TH OR LATER WILL INCUR A LATE FEE AND A SHIPPING FEE, WHICH WILL BE AT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ORDERING PARTY. NEITHER THE ASSOCIATION NOR UTE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LATE FEES DUE TO ORDERS NOT BEING SUBMITTED ON TIME. LATE ORDERS CANNOT BE GUARANTEED TO ARRIVE BEFORE THE SEASON STARTS. 

Uniforms for all age groups can be tried on at United Team Elite (UTE), located at 1420 Lookout Drive, North Mankato (507-720-3055) beginning March 12th

8u/10u uniforms will also be available to try-on at tryouts on March 10 (all players must get fitted)

8u/10u/12u Uniforms:

  • Champro Uniforms for 2024 season will be the same as the 2023 season. (1 Champro sleeved jersey and 1 Champro tank top). Mankato Peppers will provide these 2 jerseys for each player.
  • Each player will need navy blue w/orange stripe softball pants. These will be purchased at player's expense and are paid for at the time of ordering.
  • Each player will need a belt and softball socks (colors to be in the coaches discretion) which can be purchased from UTE.

14u/16u Uniforms:

  • Wilson Sublimated jerseys for 2024 season will be the same as the 2023 season. (1 white sleeved jersey and 1 orange sleeved jersey). These will be purchased at player's expense and are paid for at the time of ordering.
  • Champro Modified Racerback jersey will be provided for each player by the Mankato Peppers.
  • Each player will need Evo Shield navy blue w/ multi-colored braid pants and Evo Shield white w/ navy braid pants. These will be purchased at player's expense and are paid for at the time of ordering.
  • Each player will need a belt and softball socks (colors to be in the coaches discretion) which can be purchased from UTE.

Uniform numbers will be assigned to each player.

Uniforms will be distributed by your coach before the first scheduled game (all registration fees must be paid before uniforms will be distributed).

ALL PEPPERS PLAYERS MUST HAVE ORANGE HELMETS BY SUMMER 2025. Mankato Peppers are working with Play It Again Sports to get orange helmets. Helmets can be purchased directly through Play It Again Sports. If your daughter already has an orange helmet that was purchased through UTE, they will not be required to update and purchase a new helmet through Play It Again Sports - their old orange helmet will be acceptable.

**If you do not need any part of the uniforms as indicated above, please send an email to mankatopeppers@gmail.com to let Ashley know. An example of not needing a part of the uniform is that you obtained clothing from a past player or your team wore the same uniform last year.
